The activity begins with a trip by vehicle to the vicinity of Portería Laguna Amarga or Portería Sarmiento. From here you follow a path through the "puma restaurant", an area where this feline hunts. The chances of seeing a puma during the day are very low, however we will find herds of guanacos grazing on both sides of the trail, and we will also be able to observe foxes, condors and rheas.
Halfway through the traverse, there is a huge and outstanding rock formation where the first hunting and gathering peoples left cave paintings on its walls some 7,000 years ago. This large sedimentary rock has a considerable elevation, which allows us to have a wide view of the mountains and the surrounding terrain.
