Punta Arenas City Tour

We will begin our excursion visiting the Cerro de la Cruz, a viewpoint located to the west of the city from where there is a panoramic view of Punta Arenas, Tierra del Fuego Island, Mount Sarmiento and the southern area of the Brunswick Peninsula; where you can see the remains of old sailboats that have run aground there since time immemorial.
We will visit the Salesian Museum "Mayorino Borgatello"; which brings together the history of the missionaries in this area, tools and images of the aborigines, the flora and fauna of the region, the development of trade and the history of Oil, a very complete sample that cannot be missed.
We will visit its avenues and squares, various monuments and cultural heritage such as the Club de la Unión, and the Palacio Braun - Menéndez; where there is an important collection of objects that are testimony to the passage of man in his
historical passage through the region.
We will end our tour in the Plaza de Armas Muñoz Gomero, where the bronze sculpture of Don Hernando de Magallanes is located in memory of the discoverer of the Strait of Magellan, and at its base are native
reclining Fuegians and in particular one where the tradition says that “if you kiss his foot... the visitor will return to the city”.
